Crossapol
is the shortened term for crosslink aldehyde polymer. This is a chemical term
for a solution that helps bind the protein or keratin. These protein molecules
are responsible for making the hoof strong. This bonding creates a denser, stronger
structure, making it more resistant to the damage of excessive moisture and chemicals
such as the ammonia in urine which is known for its harmful effects on the hoof
wall. Crossapol actually penetrates and works on the cellular level of the hoof
and immediately improves it! It is both a corrective and preventative treatment,
unlike the traditional method of applying a layer of oil that merely creates the
appearance of a better hoof.
